Electric heat (fan forced, convection and/or radiant) is a wonderful way to heat small to medium indoor or outdoor spaces. There is no need to run a gas line thus eliminating the issues associated with gas (explosions, combustion fumes, etc.). Electric heaters do not need to be vented making them a very safe and convenient method of heating. There are many styles of electric heaters such as baseboard, wall heaters, ceiling heaters, unit heaters, radiant spot heaters and portable heaters to name a few. Electric heat is an inexpensive way to take the chill out of poorly designed spaces or to heat entire areas. Since electricity is slightly more expensive that gas it is not typically used for large buildings that are not zoned.
